Vintage Dotty

Tipi Wedding

We were lucky enough to be invited as one of the caterers at Tamara and Steve’s wedding in Henley on Thames in August. We have been party to lots of weddings this summer but I must say that there was something especially lovely about this one! The venue was by no means ordinary, with an old train station as the backdrop for the drinks reception we served chilled prosecco in tall glasses as well as tea and coffee in our beautiful china cups and saucers. Once the guests were mingling we set to and served our delicious finger sandwiches on vintage platters followed by our signature home made scones with clotted cream and jam which went down a treat.

After a bleak start, the sun came out and was shining through the adorned bunting across the courtyard where guests were treated to a ride on a vintage carousel. Lots of laughter was in the air and I just knew what a fabulous wedding this was going to be.  Following the drinks reception everyone made their way up onto the field where a the wedding tipi was situated. Dotty was parked alongside the tipi as well as a mobile bar, fish and chip van, a curry station and a caravan photobooth! The guests really were spoiled for choice as they perused the field at all there was to offer. Dotty was serving specialty teas, freshly ground coffee and hot chocolates and we even teamed up with the bar to offer espresso martini’s which were a big hit! As the sun set over the fields the fairy lights lit up the tipi beautifully and everyone partied the night away.

We have since received these kinds words from the bride and groom:

“I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you did at our wedding last weekend. We had the best day and your food, tea and coffee went down a storm. Dotty looked amazing and was the perfect addition to our ‘festival’!! I really hope our paths cross soon and I shall recommend you to everyone!!

Thank you so much again”,

Tamara and Steve
