We are so excited to have joined the Real Food Festival which is a fantastic organisation who showcase real food via their markets, festivals and events. We were at London’s Southbank again last weekend for our first ever Real Food Festival which was a 3 day event. We had a great pitch, right opposite the Wondering Wine Company who specialise in kraft wine (as you may have already guessed!) I have to admit I was a little nervous at the start but the other food traders were all extremely friendly and welcomed us with open arms. I did manage to sample some of the great food on offer at the event and it was all superb although my favorite has to be the duck confit from The Frenchie which was served in a soft brioche bun with a home made caramelised onion chutney and grilled smoked cheddar…simply divine and yes, I did go back for more! Another great company serving up good wholesome grub and who happened to be next to us was the Bell & Brisket. They serve succulent salt beef with tangy pickles and red cabbage piled onto authentic bagels or black rye rolls. I hasten to add that my ever sinking diet really did take a nose dive but sometimes you’ve just got to say “what the heck” .
Anyway, please keep your eyes and ears peeled for the upcoming 2014 food festivals that Dotty will be attending!
