Dotty about… The Classic Car Bootsale

Yes that’s right, Dotty was lucky enough to have been selected to join other foodies at the classic car boot-sale which was founded by Wayne Hemmingway and hosted at London’s Southbank Centre. It was an amazing event with a show stopping exhibit of classic cars, London’s finest street food wagons, musical performances, street theatre and not to mention a jaw-dropping amount of vintage fashion, accessories and homewares.
The day started for us at 5amm. On arriving at the Southbank car park at 6am we could see the sun peeping through the spokes of the London eye, and we just knew it was going to be a great day. By 10am the coffee machine was punching out espresso’s like no tomorrow and who ever said that ladies eat more cake than men were lying. Men love cake, fact!! By lunch time the food area was jam packed and I just about had time to take a quick glimpse out of the serving hatch and take it all in. The sun kept shining and by 6pm were all knackered. We met some lovely people and it really does make us happy when Dotty puts a smile of people’s faces…or is that the copious amount of cake? Who knows, but at the end of the day everyone went home happy and fulfilled. We cant wait to join in the vintage fun again at the 2014 event!
